Did you know that the Pointe-Saint-Charles community Clinic is also an Injection Equipment Access Center (CAMSI) for people who inject drugs?
Distributing new injection equipment to people who use drugs encourages them to adopt safer practices and reduces the risk of catching or spreading STBBIs. In addition to the distribution of sterile injection equipment and the collection of used material in order to reduce the transmission of STBBIs, we also wish to create a link with people who inject drugs, to inform them and to support them with a harm reduction lens, and to refer them to appropriate services.
The entire reception team is trained for this purpose. Anyone wanting injection equipment should go to the Clinic reception desck. The service is free, confidential and does not require opening a file.
